Veerayatan in RajgirEstablished in the early 1970s by Gurudev Shri Amarmuniji, with a view to revive the economic, social and spiritual glory of Rajgir, this Non-Government organisation (NGO) aims at improving the conditions of the underprivileged and downtrodden by means of 3’S - seva (humanitarianism), shiksha (education) and sadhana (inner development). Veerayatan comprises of the Netra Jyoti Seva Mandiram (N. J. S. M.), Brahmi Kala mandiram, Saptaparni and Athithi Nivas. Veerayatan's eye hospital and orthopedic center N.J.S.M. has acquired the status of being one of the most well equipped hospitals in the state of Bihar. With dedicated and well qualified team of professionals, most of the operations performed by the doctors here are entirely free or at highly subsidised costs to the patients, bringing about a radical change in the lives of many.
The Netra Jyoti Seva Mandiram also offers the programme of Diploma in Ophthalmic Training (DOT), in which the students after their graduation go on to save the underprivileged. A mobile van by Veerayatam distributes fruits, milk powder, blanket, school supplies and other items of basic necessities to the local villages, schools and rural under developed areas in Rajgir. With generous contribution from volunteers, Veerayatan undertakes various projects, campaigns and drives to bring about awareness among the people regarding different subjects and to contribute for the betterment of the society. Various projects undertaken by Veerayatan include distribution of food, clothing, material distribution to villages, slums and rural areas.
